Robyn Palescandolo (signed R. Palesca) is a contemporary studio artist from Boston. Her drawings and oil paintings follow a classical process to combine precise, realist details with painterly brushwork — depicting very current, existent subjects in an other-worldly, timeless way. She has lived in several countries, travels often, and is presently based in Southern California.
Robyn studied Art History at Boston University, and Oil Painting under Marilou van Lierop in Flanders. She has taught a number of individual and group classical painting workshops in her Italian studio (2016-2021), at KAUST (2019-2021), and currently offers courses & workshops in the soCal area. She also volunteers in creative community outreach programs, such as a mural project with the KAUST School (2019) and an online “Draw me a Mango” workshop using homemade watercolors with Students for Sustainability (2020).
Exhibitions include The Boston Arts Festival (2010), Manhattan Arts International’s “HerStory” (2021), a certificate of merit in the Luxembourg Art Prize's international selection (2020), and semi-finalist selection for the prestigious 15th International ARC Salon (2021). Robyn is a member of the Portrait Society of America, American Women Artists, and recently juried into the International Guild of Realism. Her botanical illustrations are held at the KAUST Center for Desert Agriculture, and fine artworks are held by private collectors in several countries.
Robyn is currently focused on mentoring budding artists and building community with fellow creatives, while expanding her oeuvre of portraits, figurative works, and botanicals.
